Jennifer Borcea is an Argentine tango dancer, teacher, and creative director based in Los Angeles. Her work centers on tango as a living language — one that is learned not only through steps, but through listening, presence, musicality, and embodied connection.

With years of experience dancing, teaching, and performing, Jennifer is known for her thoughtful approach to tango education. She breaks down complex ideas into clear, accessible concepts, helping dancers understand why movements work, not just how to execute them. Her teaching emphasizes technique, vocabulary, musical interpretation, and the subtle communication between partners that makes tango feel effortless and alive.

Jennifer teaches both online and in person, offering classes, workshops, and educational content designed for dancers at every stage of their journey. She is the creator of Tango del Alma, an online platform dedicated to tango vocabulary, technique, and cultural context, as well as a free newsletter that explores the language of tango through short lessons, reflections, and resources.

In addition to her educational work, Jennifer curates and hosts Fuego Tango Night, a monthly community-focused tango gathering in Los Angeles that brings together dance, music, and Argentine culture in a warm, welcoming environment.

At the heart of Jennifer’s work is a commitment to creating safe, thoughtful spaces for learning and connection. She believes tango is not about perfection, performance, or hierarchy — but about curiosity, mutual respect, and the quiet moments where time seems to slow and movement becomes conversation.

With a collective 22 years of dance experience and study, Jennifer’s teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and highly detail-oriented — both conceptually and technically. Her approach emphasizes body awareness, balance, flexibility, strength, footwork, and musicality, helping dancers understand not only how to move, but why movement works.

Jennifer aims to support current tango dancers in deepening their practice while also warmly welcoming beginners into the art of tango. She believes tango is a language learned through listening, presence, and connection, and she is committed to creating thoughtful, accessible spaces for learning.
